Ferry Delays

Due to severe weather conditions and disruption to the ferry crossing, some parcels to the Republic of Ireland collected on Wednesday 13 November will incur a 24 hour delay.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will update as soon as we have further information.

Deliveries within Italy Impacted by Coronavirus

Applies to DPD Classic Customers

Please be advised that deliveries to some towns in northern Italy have been prohibited following outbreak of the
coronavirus and restrictions from local authorities.

Coronavirus Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic and International Mail?

Further to International Notice, please see below updates regarding the Coronavirus outbreak impacting the below destinations:

China

Parcels are still being exported to China, however the majority of cities are now sealed and businesses are only operating if they are able to obtain a permit from the Government.

* Beijing will remain closed until 24th February
* Qingdao, Hangzhou, Nanking, Guangzhou offices remain closed
* Zhengzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen are now open but with limited workforce

People are being advised to only leave their homes to purchase necessities. As a result, delivery delays are to be expected in the areas outlined.

Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia & Vietnam

Normal operation is in place, however people are being advised to stay home where possible. As a result of this, delivery delays are to be expected due to the reduced workforce.

We are continuing to stay close to developments and will provide regular updates on the situation.

China Delays

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic and International Mail?

Further to International notice 1656, please be advised that delays are expected to continue due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China.

Parcels are still being exported to China, but are then being held where delivery is not possible in the country.

* Beijing will remain closed until 17th February
* Hubei province will remain closed until further notice
* The provinces: Zheijang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Chongqing, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Heilongjiang are all open, however, delays are expected due to strict controls/checks in place by the government.

Please note workers are being urged to stay at home and as a result, the workforce is reduced, which means fewer parcels going out for delivery in areas where possible.

We are continuing to stay close to developments and will provide regular updates on the situation

Indonesia Change in Duty Threshold?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic and International Mail?

Please note, Indonesian customs have changed the duty threshold for parcels imported into the country.

The previous duty threshold was USD75 which has now been changed to USD3, this means

- Parcels with a value of up to USD3 will only be subject to 10% VAT (as was the case before).
- Parcels with a value between USD3 and USD1500 will be subject to 7.5% import duty and 10% VAT.
- Parcels with a value above USD1500 will be subject to import duty (depending on HS code), 10% VAT and 2.5% import tax.

Turkey Customs Change?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express and Air Classic?

Further to International Notice 1635, the process for exports to Turkey has now changed. Previously all parcels with a tax value of up to ?200 were being cleared as DDP, then charged back to DPD and then the shipper.

Effective from today:

* Parcels will now be held in the UK
* The recipient will be contacted to pay taxes
* Once the taxes have been paid, the parcel will be released for export from the UK

Please note it is imperative to provide a valid local contact number and an email address as this will be required to make contact with the recipient for duties and taxes. If this information is invalid, delays to your parcels will occur.

India Changes to Customs Regulations - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail

Further to International Notice, following a review by the Government of India, the duty rate at 77.25% will now remain in place for ALL B2C/C2C shipments imported into India.

B2B shipments will incur a 45% duty charge, as was the case previously.

We will provide further updates on any changes made to this in the future.

Potential Delays due to Coronavirus

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be aware that the Hong Kong government has advised people to close businesses and work from home where possible as there is widespread fear and panic in relation to the Coronavirus.

As a result, please expect delivery delays.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide regular updates.

India Changes to Custom Regulations - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail

Further to International Notice, please note the Government of India has now imposed a 77.25% dutymcharge to ALL B2C/C2C shipments imported into India.

The new duty charge will be reviewed by the Government once the budget has been presented in Parliament on the 1st February.

This sitting of Parliament will decide whether to keep the duty rate at 77.25%, or revert back to the previous rate of 43%

We are closely monitoring this situation and will provide updates on any changes made.

Hong Kong Protest - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be advised due to the ongoing civil unrest, this has resulted in road closures and infrastructure damage in Hong Kong.

As a result, delays are still being experienced and are expected to continue.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

Extension of Chinese New Year due to Coronavirus?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Further to International Notice, please be advised that due to the Coronavirus, the Chinese government has decided to extend the Chinese New Year holiday until 9th February 2020 (previously until 2nd February). There will be no deliveries taking place up until this period.

We are closely monitoring the situation and any new developments on this will be communicated as soon as possible.

DPD Offshore Network Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Offshore - Channel Islands Two Day

Please be advised that as a result of extreme weather conditions, some ferry crossings to the Channel Islands have been cancelled.

Approximately 850 parcels for Jersey and 550 parcels for Guernsey (both collected 27th January) will incur a 24 hour delay.

India Changes to Customs Regulations?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be advised the Government of India has increased the duty amount for parcels specifically declared and imported as 'Gifts'.

The duty will now be charged at 77.25% for all B2C/B2B shipments which are declared as 'Gifts' (previously, this charge was 43.0%).

There is no change to the duty charge for all other items and clearance will resume as normal.

Chinese New Year 2020

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be advised that due to the coronavirus which is spreading in China, the government has decided to extend the Chinese New Year holiday until February 2nd 2020 (Previously until 30th January). There will be no deliveries taking place up until this period.

We are closely monitoring the situation and any new developments on this will be communicatedas soon as possible.

Please be advised that the below listed countries will be celebrating the Chinese New Year on the marked days and there will be no deliveries taking place in this period.

Turkey Customs Change

Applies to those customers who use Air Express and Air Classic

Please note, effective immediately, Turkish customs have changed the rules around importing parcels in to the country.

If the tax is up to ?200, shipments will now be cleared as DDP and the amount billed back to the shipper. If the tax is over ?200, this will be collected by the local clearance team in the country from the receiver.

Parcels with a value of up to ?1,500 are now subject to the following customs duty:-

- 18% for shipments with EU origin
- 20% for shipments with a non-EU origin
- Plus 20% additional lump sum customs duty for shipment content, which are within Special Consumption
Tax (These include beauty products, books, brochures and pamphlets).

Delays to Corsica, France

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic?

As part of the ongoing industrial action, there is disruption at several French ports resulting in ferries being delayed or cancelled from mainland France to Corsica.

Due to this, parcels destined for Corsica may be subject to delay.

Ferry crossings are set to return to usual at the beginning of next week (20th Jan). Further updates will be issued as required.

Taiwan Customs Change?

Applies to those customer who use Air Express, Air Classic, and International Mail

Please be aware due to a Customs regulation change by Taiwanese customs, all nationals are now required to be registered with Customs in order to receive the shipments. This can be done via 2 methods:

1. Through a mobile app called EzWay.
2. Through the Customs website, see link below.

The recipient will only need to register once with customs, please note failure to do this may lead to customs delays or returns.

Philippines - Taal Volcano?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic and International Mail?

Please be advised that the Taal Volcano in the Philippines has began to erupt, with authorities warning that a hazardous eruption is possible within the coming days. The Taal volcano is located approximately 45 miles south of the capital Manila.

As a result, delivery delays are to be expected.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates if there are any developments.

Industrial Action in Slovakia

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic?

Pleased be advised that there is industrial action taking place in Slovakia with the demand to decrease road tax.

Several border crossings have been blocked meaning that vehicles cannot enter or depart some parts of Slovakia. Road blockades have also been set up on roads within Slovakia.

Due to the above, there may be disruption to linehaul within and transiting through Slovakia, as well as disruption to final mile deliveries.

All deliveries will be attempted where possible.

Snowfall in Greece

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Express, Air Classic & DPD Direct

Heavy snowfall and ice has struck in Greece and is expected to continue for the remainder of the week.

Please be advised that this may impact linehaul and final mile deliveries.

Please also expect a longer transit to Greek islands due to sailing bans.

We will issue further updates as necessary.

Strikes to Continue Across France?

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Classic, Air Express & DPD Direct?

As part of the ongoing industrial action, wider demonstrations are planned across France over the coming weeks, with large impacts expected to be seen on Thursday 9th January.

Industrial action at ports may disrupt traffic and could cause delays and cancellations to cross-Channel ferry services. Industrial action on some major roads may also cause blockages or delays to road travel.

Strike action by Air France workers and air traffic controllers may also cause disruption to air travel.

Contingency plans have been put in place and we will do our best to ensure Service is not impacted. A further International Notice will be issued should circumstances change.

DPD Classic Network Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic

Due to unforeseen driver illness, some parcels to Hungary (collected 1st January) will not unload as expected and onward connections will be missed.

Please expect a 24 hour delay to Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece

Australia Bushfires - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Further to International Notice, please be advised that deliveries to certain areas of Australia continue to be impacted by severe bushfires, as a result delays may be experienced.

The following areas have been affected: Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales

We will continue to monitor and provide updates as soon as we have further information available.

Changes to Threshold

Applies to those customer who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be advised that the threshold for Russia will change as of 1st January 2020.

The current threshold for Russia is ?500 and/or 31 kg per month per person, which means that the customers can spend upto ?500 per month and/or a cumulative weight of 31 kg before they are charged duty on imports to Russia.

From 1st January 2020, the new threshold will be ?200 and/or 31 kg per parcel. This means that the consumers will be able to spend up to ?200 per parcel and/or purchase goods up to 31 kg per parcel without being charged duty.

French Protests (continue) and Flooding

Applies to all International Services (Air and Road)

Further to recent International Notices, protests continue to impact deliveries in France.

Further to this, there is flooding in South-West regions.

Although there are contingency plans in place to reduce any impact, there may be disruptions to linehaul transiting through France as well as disruptions to final mile deliveries.

We will issue further updates as required.

Kuwait Customs Delays - Update?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct & International Mail?

Further notice please be advised Kuwait customs are still experiencing processing delays of up to 2-3 days. This is due to a backlog caused by high volumes injected into Kuwait.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will update as soon as we have further information.

Saudi Arabia Customs Delays - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct & International Mail

Further to International Notice 1578, please be advised that Saudi Arabia customs are continuing to experience processing delays from 2-3 days. This is due to an increase of volume into the country.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will update as soon as we have further information.

Israel Customs Delays

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct & International Mail?

Please be advised that Israel customs are currently experiencing processing delays, due to high volumes being injected into the network.

Customs clearance times are taking 2-3 days longer. Therefore, delivery delays are to be expected.

We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will update as soon as we have further information.

French Protests Continue

Applies to all International Services (Air and Road) customers

Further to recent notices protests continue to impact deliveries in France.

Although there are contingency plans in place to reduce impact, there may be disruptions to linehaul transiting through France as well as disruptions to final mile deliveries.

Delays expected through Industrial Action in France?

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail

Delays are to be expected throughout France this week, with industrial action due to begin this evening (4th December). This is due to continue until Sunday 8th December.

We expect that there will be delays and cancellations, with the shutdown impacting rail, road and air transport.

We will be working with our French colleagues to implement contingency plans and delivery attempts will be made where possible.

Kuwait Customs Delays - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail?

Please be advised that Kuwaiti customs are currently experiencing customs processing delays of up to 2-3 days. This is due to a customs backlog in the country due to increased volumes in the network.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update as soon as we have further information.

Philippines - Typhoon Kammuri

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic and International Mail?

Please be advised that Typhoon Kammuri has made landfall in the central Philippines, at the southern end of Luzon Island. As a result, delivery delays are to be expected.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide further updates if there are any developments.

POD Issues

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic

Please note that despite successful delivery, some parcels are missing delivery scans and PODs in the DPD tracking platform. This is impacting deliveries to both Portugal and Sweden.

This is the result of a data issue, whereby some scans are not transferring correctly to DPD UK from destination.

We are currently working to resolve this issue and will provide further updates as necessary.

Australia Bushfire Delays?

Applies to those customers who use Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail

Please be advised that deliveries to certain areas of Australia continue to be impacted by severe bushfires, as a result delays delays may be experienced.

The following areas have been affected: Queensland and New South Wales.

Further to International Notices, please be advised due to ongoing protests and road closures in Hong Kong, delays are still expected to continue.

The following areas are affected by road closures and traffic:
Kowloon, New Territories and Hong Kong Island.

We are monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates as soon as more information becomes available.

French Industrial Action Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and Tracked Mail?

Industrial action will take place across numerous dates between 27th November - 5th December.

Please be informed that although contingency plans are in place to reduce impact, there may be disruptions to linehaul within and transiting through France, as well as disruptions to final mile deliveries.

Finnish Network Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic?

Finnish Network Update, parcels to Finland collected between the 23rd and 27th of November will incur delays due to industrial action. We have put operational contingency plans in place in order to minimise these delays.

The industrial action is expected to cease on 30th November therefore parcels collected outside the above window should not experience delays - we will continue to monitor this and update if the situation changes.

French Industrial Action

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Express, Air Classic, DPD Direct and Tracked Mail

Please be advised that there is scheduled industrial action in France on 28th November and 5th December in response to the French government's pension reform plans.

Railway and public transport staff, airport employees and postal workers are expected to join in the industrial action.

Due to the above, there may be disruptions to linehaul within and transiting through France, as well as disruptions to final mile deliveries.

All deliveries will be attempted where possible.

Finnish Network - UPDATE

Applies to those customers who use Road Classic and Air Services

Following on from the last International Notice, postal strikes and other industrial unions (mainly harbour unions) continue to strike. This may impact linehaul and final mile deliveries.

So far, we have not experienced any delays.

We are closely monitoring this and further updates will be distributed as necessary.

Finnish Network Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic?

Please note, due to ongoing Postal Strikes in Finland, other industrial unions will also be striking in sympathy, including logistics & harbour unions. We are working with our Nordic colleagues to minimise the impact to our customers however, this may impact both the linehaul operation & final mile deliveries in Finland this week.

We will provide a further update if required.

Adverse Weather Conditions and Strikes in France?

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic, Air Express, Air Classic and DPD Direct

Delays to deliveries and pick up as well as linehaul transit to France, Spain and Portugal may be impacted due to the following issues.

There is severe snowfall in South-East France. Maily impacting Ain, Alpes-Maritimes, Ard?che, Bouches-du-Rh?ne, Dr?me), Is?re, Loire, Rh?ne, Sa?ne-et-Loire, Var and Vaucluse.

There are also Yellow Vest protests causing roadblocks across France. Mainly impacting Paris, Bordeaux, Montpellier and Nantes.

All delivery attempts will be made where possible.

Portuguese Service Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic

Please be advised that there is currently a data transmission issue between DPD Portugal, the Group and DPD UK.

This issue means parcels are not receiving a proof of delivery scan, even though they are being delivered. This is impacting tracking & causing customer contact. A fix is being looked into.

Ferry Delays?

Applies to those customers who use DPD Offshore

Due to severe weather conditions and disruption to the ferry crossing, some parcels to the Republic of Ireland (collected 13th November) will incur a 24 hour delay.

DPD Classic Network Update

Applies to those customers who use DPD Classic

Due to heavy snow in Southern regions of France and subsequent delays en route, some parcels collected on Wednesday 13 November have not been unloaded and have missed connections in France.

Please expect a 24 hour delay to service.

Australia Bushfire Delays?

Kuwait Customs Delays - Update

Applies to those customers who use Air Express. Air Classic, DPD Direct and International Mail

Further to International Notice 1542, please be advised that Kuwait customs are currently still experiencing processing delays of up to 48 hours. This is due to an intermittent customs system issue in country.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and will update as soon as we have further information.
